Black and white tree made of Yin-Yang beads. Bonsai from beads using the loop technique Making a yin yang tree from beads

Today we will try to learn how to weave a Yin-Yang tree with our own hands from the most ordinary beads. Many of you are familiar with the “Yin-Yang” symbol, which symbolizes a certain ambiguity. This symbol came to us from Ancient China. Chinese sages have observed for many years that many phenomena have two sides. Our tree will be black and white, made of beads of two colors, stylized as “Yin-Yang”. Before we begin our detailed master class on how to make a tree, let's prepare the necessary materials.

We weave a Yin-Yang tree from beads with our own hands

What we need:

  • thin wire for beads (3 coils);
  • thick wire (1 m);
  • beads (black 150g and white 120g);
  • large beads of two colors (20 g each);
  • threads: wool or floss, black and white colors;
  • acrylic paints;
  • brushes;
  • PVA glue;
  • gypsum;

Our symbolic tree should consist of small branches, which will then be combined into larger branches.

Making thin branches

To weave the Yin-Yang tree with beads, let's start making branches of black and white flowers. To do this, stepping back a little from the edge, string 8 beads onto a thin wire and twist it into a leaf.

We need to make an odd number of such leaves, the distance of the twisted wire between them should be 1-2 cm.

We form a branch, starting from the central leaf.

When all our leaves are connected, we need to twist the wire down, about 3 cm. In order for the crown to be lush, you need to make about 65-70 of these white branches and 100 black ones.

Forming a large branch

When our supply of thin branches is ready, we can combine them into one large branch. For this we need a thick wire; it will take on the role of a frame. Let's cut pieces of thick wire to the length we need and begin to tightly wrap thin branches to it using floss threads of the desired color. To make one large branch you will need about 5 small ones.

Making the main frame

When our thick branches are ready, we will start making the frame. To do this, take a thick wire and bend it in a semicircle, form the first loop from one end, and bend the second end into a second, larger loop. If we did everything correctly, we will have a frame for our tree that resembles a heart shape.

If the wire we took is not elastic enough, you can use other available materials, for example, wooden or bamboo sticks, to strengthen the tree trunk.

We attach the branches to the frame.

The branches of the Yin-Yang tree will be attached according to the beading pattern described above (using threads).

Working on the plaster base

We will make the base of the tree from plaster or alabaster. To do this, we will dilute it to the proportion of sour cream and pour it into the mold. The gypsum hardens very quickly, so before it hardens, we will make holes into which we will then insert wire with beads imitating “grass”, complementing the Yin-Yang style.

Processing the trunk

The tree trunk can also be treated with plaster to give it the texture of wood. To do this, you need to pour a plaster mixture over it, and use a pointed tool to depict “bark.”

We paint the barrel and add details.

We will paint the barrel black. If you want, you can decorate the base with large black and white beads. So you have learned how to weave a Yin-Yang tree.

Bead weaving is a very exciting activity, and after learning how to make Yin-Yang trees, you can also prepare a good gift for a loved one. In order to better understand what other variations are possible, look at various photos with different tree options.

A tree of love is made in a similar way; it will look good when combined with a Yin-Yang tree.

The tree of love is a stylish composition that looks like a heart. This thing will definitely become a symbol that will speak about your feelings without words. Absolutely anyone can make such a tree, first of all, because the work does not require a large number of tools. The most important thing is your desire and creative spark.

We take a wire that is thick enough. After all, it is with the help of this wire that we will shape the trunk. It is better to make such a heart-shaped tree from two different parts. One end of each wire needs to be twisted into the trunk, and the other parts should be shaped like a heart.

We make thin branches for our tree. At this stage of work, we will need beads and wire. The color of the beads will depend only on your choice. If you are planning to make a heart, then pink and light blue shades will suit you. The wire from which the branches will be woven must be chosen flexible and thin.

Cut a small piece of wire, about 25-30 cm, and put about 5 beads on it. We twist the wire so that we get the shape of a leaf. When we get the first leaf in the shape of a loop, you can move on to the next leaves. We recommend that you make 8-9 leaves on one branch.

Once you have the required number of leaves, start forming a branch. To do this, simply intertwine the two halves of your wire with each other. To make a tree you need to prepare 20-25 branches of each color. You will connect three thin branches into medium ones. The middle ones are three thick, and then assemble the trunk from the thick ones.

Secure the resulting two parts of the barrel to our ready-made base made of thicker and stronger wire. After you attach the beaded trunks to the base, it is advisable to wrap them on top with floss threads of a suitable color.

Now you need to take the container in which you will fix your tree and secure it there. For fixing, gypsum mortar is usually used. If desired, trunks can also be primed with this solution. After complete drying, they can be painted.

In order to consolidate the knowledge gained, we advise you to watch several videos on how to make a love tree from beads.

We hope that the love tree will become one of your favorite crafts in your assortment thanks to the simple instructions outlined in this master class.

Handmade interior decorations not only liven up the decor, but also add personality to the design. The yin-yang tree made of beads is a bright element that will fit into any interior. You can buy such a product at a handmade goods store or try to make it yourself. This task will require patience and skill, but the result is worth it. A few evenings and the exclusive product is ready.

Symbolism

In Chinese philosophy, Yin and Yang are two opposites that are parts of one whole. Balance and harmony in the world depend on the unity of these two halves. Likewise, a yin-yang tree made of beads will bring peace and joy to your home. But even without deep meaning, this product will please the eye and charge you with positivity.

Materials for work

To make a yin-yang tree from beads with your own hands, you need to prepare the materials and tools necessary for the work:

  • You will need beads of two colors - black and white. You need 200 g of each color, although the amount depends on the desired splendor of the crown of the future tree.
  • Thin copper wire for creating branches.
  • Wire 3.5 mm thick for the trunk - about 1 meter. Copper wire is best suited for such a product - it holds its shape well and is strong enough to withstand the weight of the beaded crown.
  • White and black threads for wrapping branches and trunk. The best option is silk. They have a beautiful shine, which will give the product additional charm and mystery.

You will also need for registration:

  • tree pot;
  • gypsum;
  • water;
  • container for mixing the solution;
  • scissors;
  • wire cutters;
  • paints;
  • tassels.

Leaves and twigs

You need to start working with the formation of branches. To do this, string 8 black beads onto a piece of wire 0.5 m long. Step back from the edge of the wire at least 5 cm, make a loop by twisting the wire at the base of the loop a couple of times. This is how a leaf turns out. After a centimeter, make another loop, and so on until the end of the wire. At the end, there should also be an end of at least 5 cm. The number of leaves should be odd. The workpiece is ready. The photo shows a diagram of a yin-yang tree made of beads.

Now you need to form a branch. To do this, you need to find the central loop and fold the workpiece in half. Twisting in one direction, you should form a branch so that the loops are opposite each other. Straighten the “leaves” and scroll through the remaining loose ends. The twig is ready. You will need 70-100 of each color.

Branches and crown

Take one black twig, attach another to it where the leaves end, and twist the wire. Attach a third branch and repeat twisting. This creates a small branch. Thus, you need to connect the remaining branches in three pieces. Small branches are connected in the same way, three at a time into a large branch. The large ones form the crown of the tree. At the end you should get two crowns: black and white.

The branches need to be wrapped with threads to match the beads. To keep the threads in place, they can be fixed with glue.

Trunk

Take a piece of thick wire about 50 cm and attach the prepared black crown to it. Wrap it with thin wire and secure with black thread. Do the same with the white half. To make the trunk thicker, it can be wrapped with electrical tape, floral paper, strips of bandage, or coated with plaster.

All that remains is to form a yin-yang tree from beads, slightly intertwining the trunks with each other. This technique adds romanticism to the product.

"Planting" a tree

The yin-yang bead tree is ready, all that remains is to “plant” it in a pot. The container for such decoration should be discreet, preferably black or white.

Dilute the plaster according to the instructions until it becomes thick like sour cream. To make the tree stable, bend the ends of the thick wire in the “roots” area with pliers into a loop. Place the tree in a pot and fill it with gypsum mortar. Until the mixture sets, you need to hold the workpiece so that it does not move. Then leave until completely hardened for about a day.

At this stage, you can coat the tree trunk to make an imitation of bark. A thin layer of gypsum mortar is applied to the trunk and, using a toothpick or other sharp thin object, grooves are made in the uncured plaster.

You can do without a potty at all. In this case, you will need a flat container, which is covered with cellophane. The tree is installed in this container and filled with plaster, and after drying it is removed from the mold. The base is painted and decorated as desired.

Decoration

After the plaster has completely dried, you need to apply the final touches. If the trunk was covered with plaster, it must be painted with acrylic paints or gouache in the appropriate color. The paint is applied in several layers. It is necessary that each layer dries completely. Only in this case will flaws in the coloring be visible.

The base can also be decorated as you wish. For example, make a yin-yang sign out of beads, gluing the beads to a plaster base. Can be painted or decorated in any other way. The finished product is varnished (optional).

Variations on a theme

The described master class of yin-yang wood made of beads is basic. But creating trees from beads is a creative process and various deviations and flights of imagination are welcome.

So, it is not necessary that the color palette be only black and white. You can also make it from other contrasting colors that will look no less impressive: blue and red, yellow and green, and others.

You can also experiment with trunks. A variant in which two trunks are intertwined is described here. But it is possible for branches of different colors to come from one base.

The shape of the tree is also not important. It is important that it can be shaped like a heart or a horseshoe. In any case, it will look bright and impressive.

Having learned how to make a tree from yin-yang beads, you can safely get to work. This is painstaking work that requires not only good imagination, but also perseverance. But the result is a beautiful and stylish decoration for your home or a memorable gift for friends and family.

Creating trees from yin-yang beads and other variations is a fun process. The whole family can be involved in creating such a masterpiece. Children enjoy stringing beads onto wire, and men can be puzzled by bending thick wire into shapes. Each family member will then proudly say that they had a hand in this masterpiece.

Master class on weaving Yin Yang wood with beads

Making branches The “Chinese” tree, the photo of which stimulates action, is made using the loop weaving technique. Our master class will tell you how to start work correctly and create an unusual and touching souvenir:

  • Prepare spools of beads. In order for the tree to look more impressive and its branches to appear airy, it is better to use thin wire of silver or any other neutral shade;
  • Step back from the edge about fifteen centimeters. Weave several loops consisting of eight beads. In total you should have 15-17 loops;
  • Make a similar indent from the last loop and carefully cut the wire;

  • After finishing work on the loops, you can start assembling your Yin Yang workpiece. The photo provided by our master class shows that you need to start from the central element. Twist the wire, and after the last two loops, twist it about three to four centimeters;
  • To make the tree look beautiful and neat, straighten the branches;
  • Make 70 white and 100 black blanks.
  • Making flowers If you want your Yin Yang tree to be more lush and elegant, then you can make it bloom. In the photo this product looks very advantageous.
    Making petals
    In order to make cute leaves for your Yin Yang, you will need to perform the following manipulations:

  • First of all, make a black flower. To do this, place eight white (precisely white) beads on the wire and twist the loop two or three turns at the base;
  • Take sixteen black beads, circle them around the white loop and twist at the base;
  • Re-collect eight white beads and twist them two turns;
  • Circle black beads (15-16 pieces) around a white loop;
  • Make three more petals in exactly the same way, then connect all the elements and place a bead in the center;
  • Wrap the wire with floral tape.
  • Making leaves

  • Take seven beads and make loops;
  • Make several things, attach them to the flower and secure with floral tape;
  • Use the same method to make leaves for the white flower.
  • Assembling twigs

    The Yin Yang tree suggests the free flight of the artist's imagination. The classic version, which looks impressive in the photo, involves covering a white branch with a lush black branch. The obi of the Yin Yang branch are arranged in the shape of a heart. How to properly attach tree branches? Follow the tips that our master class offers:

  • Make several blanks for black branches;
  • Cut a piece of wire no more than twenty centimeters long and 1.2 millimeters in diameter;
  • Wrap the black blanks using a strong thread of a similar shade (you will attach the white branches to the trunk frame).
  • Assembling and planting a trunk Our master class will help you quickly assemble your Yin Yang tree. The photo shows that it is advisable to use pieces of copper wire. The product is assembled as follows:

  • Take two pieces of wire, the length of which is 45-50 centimeters, and the diameter is no more than 3.5 millimeters. Form a frame of branches, at the end of which make a small loop;
  • “Arm yourself” with a strong thread and screw the branch to the frame. You need to start screwing from the top of the head, placing the branches in a “spiral” relationship to the trunk of the product;
  • To prevent the wood from deforming, strengthen the frame with another piece of wire;
  • Attach the trunk of the tree using a loop to a pre-prepared mold of an interesting configuration;
  • Prepare the gypsum mixture (its consistency should be creamy);
  • Dry thoroughly, then remove the mold.

  • Decorating the trunk In order for the Yin Yang tree in the photo and in “real life” to look no worse than a factory exhibit, its trunk needs to be “ennobled”. Our master class will tell you how to do this:

  • Prepare a mixture of PVA glue, water and plaster;
  • Carefully coat each branch and the bottom of the trunk;
  • Give the trunk texture. To do this, cut through the bark on the hardening gypsum-adhesive mixture;
  • Allow the product to harden;
  • Using an awl or a delicate drill, make several holes to place the decor.

  • Painting

    Here comes the most “creative” and interesting moment of the work process. Our master class will also help you paint an almost finished Yin Yang product:

  • “Arm yourself” with a brush, and, using gouache (any kind, you can also use a child’s), paint the upper branch black (exactly to the place where the branches intersect), and the lower branch and the tree trunk white;
  • Dry;
  • Using a hard, dry brush, paint the bottom of the Yi Yan trunk and roots with black paint. Movements must be horizontal;
  • Don't forget to paint the bottom of the stand mold.
  • The finished tree can be placed both in the office and on your home desktop. Stylish and amazingly beautiful, this product will always delight you and your loved ones.
    If you want your Yin Yang tree to be no different from the cute souvenirs sold in boutiques and shops, then draw a “yin-yang” pattern on a plaster stand. First, coat one half with glue and lay out black beads. Then do the same manipulations, only with white beads, with the second part of the pattern.

    I haven’t made bonsai for 5 years. And then a customer appeared :) I enjoyed working on beaded bonsai using the loop technique. The Yin Yang style was chosen. This bonsai is very easy to make step by step. Handicraftsmen usually have everything they need at hand. I only bought an ashtray, the rest was found in the bins.

    Trees made of Yin Yang beads (the tree of happiness) are often given as a gift for Valentine's Day as a symbol of harmony and unity of opposites (masculine and feminine).

    List of materials:

    • beads No. 10 white and black - 50 g each;
    • 0.3 mm wire - 50 pieces of 60 cm each (ideally 25 pieces of white and 25 pieces of black, but my wire was standard copper);
    • thick copper wire - 2 pieces of 15 cm each;
    • black and white “Iris” threads for winding a bonsai trunk;
    • plaster (alabaster);
    • stand (I have a ceramic white ashtray);
    • PVA glue;
    • black and white acrylic paint.

    How to weave a beaded bonsai in the yin yang style:

    1. We collect 9-10 beads into the middle of the wire, twist the wire at the base of the loop into 9 turns (hence the name - loop technique).
    2. On one end of the wire we again collect 9-10 beads, bend the wire so that the bottom of the bead goes a centimeter from the previous twist - twist the loop to the previous twist (ideally you should get the same 9 turns, but if there are 8 or 10, it’s not critical ).
    3. Repeat step 2 for the second end of the wire. Now we intercept both loops facing each other and twist the wire under them into the same 9 turns.
    4. We continue to make the opposite leaves of the loop until we have 9 pieces on the branch. After the last pair of leaves, we make not 9 turns as usual, but 25 - so that a long stalk is formed.

    5. Next, we take white yarn in our hands, dip the tail in PVA glue, apply it from the tips to the place where the last pair of leaf loops are combined, and begin to wrap the petiole. When winding, try to lay the turns in one layer to avoid unevenness and bare sections of wire.
    6. At the end, we pinch the tip of the yarn between the two tails of the wire so that the winding does not unwind. We cut the thread.
    7. Having prepared 225 such branches, we begin to combine them into a tree. First, we wrap 2 branches to each other with just a few turns, then we apply a third, make 5 turns, a fourth branch, again 5 turns, and a fifth branch, now we make turns to the very ends of the wire. Don’t forget to periodically lubricate your fingers with PVA glue. It will hold the yarn together. We pinch the end of the thread between the ends of the wires.
    8. In total you should get 5 white and 5 black branches.

    9. Now we begin to make a white and black tree. Similarly, we wrap 5 white branches to each other in turn. We only increase the number of turns between them to 10-15.
    10. Bend the thick wire along the bottom into a loop so that the tree stands tightly on the loop.
    11. We push the sharp edge of the thick wire all the way between the wound branches and continue to wrap further from top to bottom. At the bottom, the short wires will begin to end unevenly. Therefore, we do the winding not in one layer, but in such a way as to even out the width of the tree trunk (see what an aligned black trunk looks like in photo 11). Don't forget to periodically wet your fingers with PVA glue.
    12. We put two trees together and twist the trunks together.

    13. Stir the alabaster with water until it becomes pasty. Transfer the mixture to a stand.
    14. We plant the tree in the solution exactly in the center, making sure that the tree stands vertically. We lean it on something and forget about the craft for about 6 hours - during this time the mixture will thicken to solid.
    15. On the frozen surface we draw the Yin Yang sign. We paint the white part generously with PVA glue and cover it thickly with white beads. Let it dry. Paint the remaining area with black acrylic paint and dry it. Pour PVA onto the acrylic and sprinkle it thickly with black beads on top.
    16. While the second part of the drawing is drying, straighten the crown of the tree. I ended up with something drooping, more similar to a palm tree or willow in the structure of its branches. Bonsai is ready!
